Record Store Day, London 18th April 2015

Museum of Soho: Last month I hung out listening to live bands and mooching around the few remaining record stores in London’s Soho. We were celebrating our love of vinyl records and music.

I was stunned to discover that there had been so many record shops in such a small area of London. 123 are marked on this map at the Museum of Soho.

Riley Walker performing on the Berwick Street stage for Record Store Day. A great bluesy singer from Chicago. I checked him out further on youtube and he’s a name to watch.

Lazy Talk were on next. A London band which mixed ska with pop/rock music. And great fun. Soon we were all dancing. The lead singer is playing a melodihorn.

The Museum of Soho was also the place to be. A great history of the record shops in the area. Plus music and a bit of a bop.

Notice the red item and carrier bag with the 2 bottles that the dancing lady is holding? See where they end up in the next shot…

…they ended up with the man looking at his phone. Meanwhile, I thought the man in red was looking rather fetching. And I only spotted this when I down loaded my work later.
